PEPPER PIKE, OH- The Orange Lions baseball team out hit Willoughby South 11-5 on Tuesday night, but timely hitting proved to be the difference as the Lions fell to the Rebels 7-3.
Orange consistently put runners on base throughout the game, but struggled to bring them home despite the offensive production. Jake Vallone led the Lions offensively with two RBI, while George Gallup, Blake Jacobs, Xavier Carlisle-Winston, and Vallone each collected two hits in the loss.
Willoughby South took advantage of its scoring opportunities and used strong situational hitting to build enough separation on the scoreboard despite being out hit by the Lions.
Orange will look to bounce back quickly as the Lions travel to Chardon on Wednesday for another conference matchup.
